Home realm
The place that Canterwit call home is a magical realm by the name of Anther. It is a fragrant, beautiful place with breathtaking sights - flower petals dance along the breeze, with colourful fields of flowers decorating the horizon as far as the eyes can see. Foliage is not limited to the colour green in Anther - trees, flora and fauna come in all kinds of colours!
Those with evil intentions or a cruel mind are incapable of entering it. Anther can only be accessed by other Canterwit or any other creature with a pure heart. If a human enters Anther, they will be transformed into a Canterwit! The realm is protected by a Goddess named Flor, and is ruled by royal monarchs. Housing
The architectural designs in the realm follow similar appearances to English/European country cottages. Naturally, Canterwit home owners often have very flamboyant gardens! Their architecture designs were heavily influenced around the time they were first beginning their travels to earth, where old age European buildings had wooden panels, limestone and country decor. Some Canterwit may even live inside tree homes or log cabins, especially in rustic locations like Firwick and Fernmoore. Canterwit can live wherever they like in the realm, the most populous location being Aspenfey, the capital and main hub.
Society structure
Each Canterwit represents the spirit of a flower (or multiple flowers in rare cases), and their purpose in life is to spend half the year strengthening their magic through fun events, festivities and hard work, while the other half of the year involves travelling to earth to spread their magical joy in the form of flowers. (The real-life representation of this are the months in the year! At the start of Spring, Canterwit begin their migration to spread their flowers on earth. Come Autumn, with their duty fulfilled, they are exhausted, and return to the realm to renew the cycle of developing their magical strength through the Winter. The observation of plant life starting to wither on Earth in Autumn is the telltale sign that Canters have gone home for the year!)
Positive emotions are the fuel for Canterwit magic - all forms of happiness, laughter, joy and friendly competition give them the strength they need to sustain their abilities and make the natural beauty of flowers bloom into existence. In order to motivate their peers, four houses exist representing different values that Canterwit may feel aligned with. The existence of these houses enables the community to feel fresh and uplifted, and uphold the tradition of the potential for great discovery and accomplishments to exist from their species.
Many things in Canterwit society are practically mirrored with human life (architecture design, currency, apparel, etc), this is because in the early years of leaving the realm, traveller Canterwit took a fondness to planet earth's many interesting sights and traditions, and a lot of these were implemented to make their society mirror the parts of the human world that they had grown to admire.
Their society is ruled by a monarch system, each Wildflower Canterwit being a royal body of some kind. Wildflower Canterwit have the highest levels of magic in the realm, so they are treated with great respect by their peers and are in trusted positions of leadership.

Jobs
Canterwit balance work and play to make a good living. They can take on just about any job in the realm, some jobs requiring a degree of magic use, some requiring strength, and some requiring neither. Some jobs may even require travelling outside of the realm, Canterwit may harvest pollen or export flowers in bulk. The southern city of Larchby acts as a port/gateway to bring goods in and out of the realm.
Diet
Being ungulate, Canterwit are herbivores, so they do not have any meat in their diet. The Canterwit's diet consists of any variety between fruit, berries, milk, vegetables, honey and nuts. One important thing to mention is that they absolutely cannot eat flowers! It disrupts the harmony of their magic, and gives them a very bad tummy ache.
Birth, life & death
Reproduction between two Canterwit can occur no matter what their gender is. Because love is such a necessary part of Canterwit society, any Canterwit brought into life is to be nurtured and loved tenderly by their parent(s). We don't actually know how baby Canters are conceived yet. We're still researching this!
Foal or Seedling - (aka. baby/toddler) A baby Canterwit. The Canterwit's markings and flowers can represent the parents in some way or another, but sometimes the child will have a completely different flower and coat colour. Seedling Canterwit do not have their final markings fully developed, design-wise they would resemble an incredibly simplified version of how they may look as an adult. Their antlers have not grown at this point, and may only be shown as tiny little nubs. Their flowers are closed up in bud form, and will begin to open when they start to experience love, joy and laughter.
Bloom - (aka. teenager/young adult) An adult Canterwit. A Canterwit in Bloom is at peak adulthood age, it is also the age where their magic is most powerful. Their flowers will be fully open, the amount of flowers growing in their antlers and fur varying between their happiness levels and magical strength. Bloom Canterwit are the main foundation for society, and make more trips to earth than any other age. An adult female identifying Canterwit is also called a mare, and an adult male identifying Canterwit is also called a colt.
Wither - (aka. late adult/elderly) Aged Canterwit. A Wither would have retired at this point in life, but still participate in small hobbies around the realm to keep their magic strong. Some Wither Canterwit may continue travelling to earth.

Shapeshifting
Canterwit may shapeshift and take on different forms while on planet earth. A lot of Canterwit enjoy transforming into humans, and spending some time on earth like this. Full disguise would mask a Canterwit of all fantasy traits, bar their eye colour, but sometimes a Canterwit will shapeshift leaving their tail, antlers and ears all intact. Though they may transform physically into a human, they still harbour the qualities of their original feral forms, such as:
Diet - They are vegetarian with a very prominent sweet tooth. Candy is a human-food that Canters take a very strong liking to.
Fragrance - As flower spirits, Canterwit are scented creatures carrying a strong aroma of their birth flower. This passes over to a human form as well, some other humans may believe that your Canterwit uses exceptionally nice bath products!
