Anatomy
The body structure and shape of a Canterwit can be described as a mixture between a horse and a deer. Their faces resemble a deer's with its slenderness, but this changes in their body - they do not have small hooves and slender limbs, they are more stocky and solid like a small horse. They come in a variety of body sizes as well, refer to below to view!
An important design note is that the colour of their flower matches the colour of their hooves, nose, eyes, skin, sometimes their antlers and the inside of their ears. This is referred to as a Canter's "mantle"! Example: The Canterwit shown here has a red flower, thus making their mantle red. The mantle colour may appear in their coat or mane as well. Their coat length and markings can be anything! There are no limits on how long or short a Canter's fur may be. |
Some design notes for the head: A Canterwit's eyes don't have any whites! They are the plain, solid colour, with pupil. Their noses are slender like a fox, with two nostrils. Their muzzles can be sharp and slim (like a deer) or more curvaceous and round (like a horse.) Their ears can hang forward or backwards, it doesn't really matter.
Body types
Canterwit have 3 different body types - lundy, cob and draft. Lundy Canterwit are round-bodied and petite with button noses and small features. Canterwit with a cob body type are slender and lean, with medium sized features. Draft Canterwit are more stocky and well built with broad necks, wide chests and strong legs. If you feel that your Canter may even be a cross between two different body types, then that's completely acceptable! It is not uncommon for a Canter to show characteristics of more than one body type.
Wings
Wings are an addition to some Canterwit either by birth or earning them through tier rank rewards! The wings are found in two types, birdwing and faerie. Birdwing styled wings have a feathered plumage, whereas faerie wings are transparent and fairytale inspired.
Birdwing designs can be any pattern, shape or colour! As long as they have a feathered plumage, they are considered birdwing. They are either born to a Canterwit or earned for doing a great deed in the eyes of Canter society. Some Canters may gift their feathers to mages and other Canters in exchange for goods, as their feathers can harness magical properties.

Faerie wings, like birdwings, may also be born to a Canter or earned upon completing a great deed. They have no set design or size, as Faerie wings are unique to each and every Canter who have them. It is common for the colour of faerie wings to match their Canter's flower - although some may have accents and patterns too.
